A few tips to help you keep slim

A few tips to help you keep slim

Ready to get strong and slim? Use these tips to lose weight and look great in no time.

1) Control that sweet tooth! Those late night sugar cravings for chocolates, cakes, and ice-creams have got to stop. Instead of loading those sugar calories during late hours, perhaps consider a fruit instead. Resist the urge to indulge in a slice of chocolate cake, instead, enjoy a sliced apple with a table spoon of your favourite peanut butter. You will sleep better knowing you’re on the right track.

2) Stock up on these – There are many healthy foods out there, but here are some of the key ingredients to make easier to meet your weight-loss goals. The next time you head down to the supermarket make sure to add these to your cart. Balsamic vinegar (delicious low-cal flavour to salads). Shell nuts, high in protein and fibre. Fat free plain yogurt, a delicious and comforting source of protein) as well as some Greek yogurt (works wonders as a natural low-cal base for dressings and dip)

3) Hydrate! If you’re heading off to gym, a jog, or a spin session, it is crucial to hydrate in order to stay energised to have your greatest workouts. Water also helps with digestion and helps speed up your metabolism. A great 0 calorie refreshment to keep you fuller for longer.

4) When to weigh yourself? The best time to step on the scale is in the morning, before you drink a whole lot of water, eat and begin your daily activities. Remember to weigh yourself consistently, at the same time daily or weekly.

5) Stay on Track : Yes, we all get that guilty feeling after over indulging during our ”Cheat Day” or had an extra slice of milk-tart at a birthday party. Don’t let it get you down, do a few more sets or steps of exercise the following day, and the next. It takes roughly 3 500 calories to gain a pound of body fat, so a single cheat day would not significantly increase your weight.

6) Maintain – When you finally do meet your objectives it doesn't mean it's time to put on the brakes. To maintain your weight, you still have to make those smart choices at restaurants, work, and home. And remember to stick to using that scale so you can proactively maintain should you put on a pound or 2.
