A few tips to sticking to those "New Year Resolutions"

Its 2016, and time for those New year resolutions, yes, it is that time again when we all make these promises to be healthier, save more, quite smoking, and so on. Reality check, only 1 in 10 of us will actually stick to these.

The trick is, breaking these goals, or objectives into smaller achievable targets for a much better chance to actually succeed. A good solid plan helps to, without one; your resolution may seem unachievable at times.

Here are a few tips to help you stick to your 2016 goals:

1) Start with just a single resolution, focusing all your energy trying to change that particular part of your life for a greater chance to succeed in it.

2) Plan in advance, what do you really want to achieve and do you plan on getting there?

3) Try not to revisit previous resolutions, as you have already failed at them. Focus on a new one that is achievable. Once you succeed, save the harder ones for 2017

4) What’s really important to you? You don’t have to follow sheep and take on a resolution that everyone is trying to accomplish.

5) Micro Mange your resolution by breaking it down into smaller achievable targets by creating milestones, step by step, so that you can measure your success gradually.

6) Tell your friends and family about your goals, their support will really help you when you think you‘re going to fail.

7) Create a checklist about how your life will change once your goal has been accomplished. This will remind you of why you are actually making those sacrifices on the way to achieving your goals.

8) Reward yourself after each milestone has been accomplished. This shows progress, and progress is all you need to accomplish the end result.

9) Diarise your plans and your progress.

10) If you do slip up during the way, it is okay. Falling back into these old habits or “cheat days” is normal. Do not give up! See this as a temporary setback or a “moment of weakness” and continue your road to success!
