Well, think again, because the fast-food giant has gone and done it again with the addition of a few simple ingredients...
They are now trying out “GARLIC fries” - and everybody seems to be lovin' them.
McDonald's told the Times that “the tasty treat is made by tossing their signature French fries to combine with a purée mix that includes chopped garlic, olive oil, parmesan cheese, parsley and a pinch of salt”. Isn’t it enough to make your mouth water?
Mc D’s are now selling the fries in 4 restaurants in San Francisco, California and USA.
Apparently it's all part of their efforts to test with local flavours and food - these fries use local 'Gilroy garlic'. Should we South Africans get a taste of this perhaps a bit of, “local is Lekker”
But their popularity has spread far and wide after photographs of the delicious fries went viral.
There are calls as far away as Australia for them to roll out the menu item globally.
McDonald's told TIME that “if the trial is successful, they will extend the new product to 250 restaurants in the area”.
Maybe if we all ask nicely, they will bring it across to our side of the world.
