Mechanic Iinvents 'Water Fuelled' Car That Runs For Less Than 50c A Litre

A man from India claims to have invented a shocking water fuelled vehicle. Mechanic by trade, Mohammed Raees Markani, 44 has spent the last 5 years of his time, modifying and tweaking an 800cc engine. He now believes he has made an extraordinary scientific leap for cleaner energy. 

The Eco friendly vehicle uses a combination of carbides and water. Unbelievably, just a litre of this mixture costs under 50c, yes, that’s 2lt for a rand, making this much more cost effective compared to traditional fuels.

Raees, who lives in the state of Madhya Pradesh said: "The car runs on acetylene gas, which is formed from a chemical reaction between calcium carbide and water”

"The gas is used for several industrial purposes including welding and portable lighting for miners. But in my case, I am using it to propel the car engine. "I have made other changes to the engines, which helps the overall performance of the car. So basically, it is just about the water."

Markani has experience with working on engines for just 15 years, and has never been to school, nor can he read or write, making this invention a huge leap within society with Raees now being a “local celebrity”.

"This idea struck my mind while I was gas welding a part of my car in my workshop many years ago. But I did not know how to go about it," Markani said. "Somehow, I made a start and it took five years to make this efficient engine."

A few Chinese automobile companies have now invited Markani over to develop the idea further after he had patented the idea.

 "So a car like mine can be a good alternative. It costs close to nothing to operate and it is environment friendly."

Raees just has one condition to all automobile companies interested in his water car project, and that any plant to develop these cars must be established in Madhya Pradesh, his hometown.

Markani said: "I want things to change in my hometown. So this is where my work should continue.
