Was There A Google Update On The 7th Feb?

Google roughly updates their search algorithm about 500 to 600 times a year. Updates such as the Google Penguin and Google Panda updates creating huge fluctuations in rankings have been noticed by webmasters globally.

It would seem that there has been another update in Feb 2017, speculations towards and update to the Penguin update. Google has not yet confirmed anything, so at this moment in time, all we may do is speculate as Google will never really reveal all their strategies to us. However, they have not denied that there has been an update in Feb 2017.

In April 2012, Google launched the initial penguin algorithm update, penalising all sites that violated their guidelines, such as, spammy links, (or paid links from link farms). Websites then needed to immediately remove these “bad links” that pointed to their websites.

It would seem that the Feb update was along the lines of poor, low quality backlink strategies, aimed to bring down PBN’s, or Private Blog Networks.  Some webmasters have reported to see a drop index rates, however there are a few that have reported an increase in links being indexed by Google.
